OSAWATOMIE — One foster grandmother honored recently by the Miami, Linn and Johnson counties’ Foster Grandparent Program is truly grand. At 101, Ruth Wrench of Osawatomie is the oldest foster grandparent in the U.S. The Osawatomie Journal reports that Wrench has served as a foster grandparent to Osawatomie and Paola kids at the Swenson Early Childhood Education Center for the 33 years of the program.
