OSAWATOMIE — The city of Osawatomie has formally applied for a federal $400,000 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant. The Osawatomie Journal reported that the grant would used for the second phase of renovation work at the Osawatomie Library. The second phase includes an addition to the library, starting of new education programs, and a John Brown and Kansas history room. The library board has raised most of the $100,000 needed to match the grant.
