OTTAWA–If you plan on driving across the Marais Des Cygnes River Bridge in Ottawa next Monday….better plan on a detour. Assuming weather for road work is favorable, the bridge will be closed all day Monday so Killough Construction Company workers can complete the Skunk Run Box Culvert Replacement Project. The pavement between 5th and 7th street will be milled and overlaid with asphalt, and a seal must be replaced in the bridge. The bridge must be closed to give adhesives time to cure. During the closure, city crews will inspect and adjust the rolling flood gates on either end of the Main Street Bridge. The posted detour for through traffic will be west from the intersections with K-68 and 7th street. Signs, traffic cones and other devices will be adjusted to direct traffic as needed. If everything goes as expected, the bridge will reopen before dark.
