OTTAWA — Remember what McGruff the Crime Dog says, if you take a bite of crime you need to make a flight in fast time. Otherwise, you’ll end up in the Franklin County jail. Ask 40-year-old Charles Brannan Jr. of Ottawa. 26-year-old Thaddeus Kingsolver, 26, Ottawa, called 911 and reported that he saw a man burglarizing his parked car in the 300 block of South Oak. After Kingsolver let his fingers do the walking, his feet did the running. Ottawa Police Lt. Adam Weingartner said the burglar fled and Kingsolver took off in pursuit. He tackled the man and held him until officers arrived. Brannan was booked into the jail on suspicion of burglary of a motor vehicle.
