DES MOINES, Iowa — If you sold cattle to the Eastern Livestock Company of Albany, Ind., and your check bounced, you should file a claim with the feds. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Grain, Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration said Eastern issued rubber checks this month. If you expected money from Eastern and haven’t been paid or received a no-fund check, you should call the GIPSA Midwestern regional office at Des Moines, Iowa, at (515) 323-2579. Claims must be filed within 60 days of the transaction on which the claim is based.
