WASHINGTON — A Vermont milk-free bakery is recalling cookie products with chocolate or chocolate chips. The Liz Lovely bakery said the chocolate, which was purchased from a third-party chocolate manufacturer, has undeclared dairy products. People who have allergies to milk could have serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the products. Liz Lovely cookies are sold nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders. The Kansas Department of Agriculture said some of the cookies were sold in Kansas. Those include Cowboy Cookies, Cowgirl Cookies, Peanut Butter Classics, gluten-free chocolate cookies, and organic pretzels sold in 6-ounce and 8-ounce packages. If you bought any of the cookies with chocolate between Oct. 4 and Nov.15, you should return them to wherever you bought them for a full refund. Check the web site lizlovely.com. The company said Liz Lovely cookies without chocolate are OK to eat.
