BALDWIN CITY–During the past two years, Baldwin City’s Holiday Festival has been on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. But this year it will be held tomorrow. Shawna Garber, co-chair of the Convention and Vistor’s Bureau, said that the early date has its advantages. The first is allowing the downtown retailers to be open for early Christmas shoppers and the chance to collect monetary or food donations in a high-need year. Saturday starts with Breakfast with Santa at 9am at the Baldwin Elementary School Intermediate Center. The cost is $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Other events will occur and conclude with a parade at 6pm at the corner of Eighth and Chapel streets. Santa Clause will end the parade and light a tree.
