OTTAWA — Ottawa police have halted the investigation into the shooting of a Franklin County reserve officer in his Ottawa home in the 1100 block of West Eagle Pass Court in early September. Lt. Adam Weingartners said detectives have exhausted all leads in the case and are no longer trying to locate the person reported as the suspect. Weingartner said Ottawa police don’t believe that any members of the community are at risk from the person described as the assailant in this case. The 26-year-old man had received a gunshot wound. He told officers that he had confronted an intruder in his home who shot him. That set off a massive manhunt. The case could be reopened if any new information surfaces, Weingartner said.
