TOPEKA — Kansas Highway Patrol cars will be sporting red ribbons during the holiday season. Highway Patrol Supt. Col. Terry Maple said troopers’ car will display the red ribbons to memorialize the lives lost due to alcohol-related tragedies. Alcohol-related crashes have devastating consequences on families and are easily preventable, he said. Last year, there were 44 alcohol-related crashes that killed four people and injured 18, he said.
