OTTAWA — The latest victim of Internet fraud? The Franklin County jail. Franklin County Undersheriff Steve Lunger said that an Internet thief somehow managed to get into the jail’s bank account and steal approximately $2,600 over a three-week period by transferring money from the account over the Internet. Detectives are investigating how the thief got the account number and where the money went, he said. Lunger said he’s dealt with several victims of internet theft but he confesses this is a unique case.
