OTTAWA — The city of Ottawa will soon start wheeling and dealing on the Internet.
For the first time, the city will start selling used and surplus public works machinery and equipment on the Kansas-based Internet auction service Purple Wave. City manager Richard Nienstedt said other government entities have had success in selling items on-line. That includes Franklin County, which now sells most of its equipment and vehicles on Purple Wave.
