GARNETT — Lisa Katzer, Garnett, and her daughter, Sydney Amaya; joined a dozen other volunteers to wrap presents for Cops for Tots. Katzer told the Anderson County Review that she wanted her daughter to see firsthand how fortunate she is at Christmas time. Cops for Tots has worked with ECKAN and other local groups and businesses to collect presents, food and items for needy children and their families at Christmas. Toys have been collected throughout the area in recent weeks, including at drop boxes at local businesses and others have adopted “angels” at angel trees at city hall and Alco, buying gifts for children’s wish lists. The drive winds up this week. This year, 94 families with 234 children in Anderson County signed up to receive gifts from Cops for Tots. As of this last weekend, about 70 children had not been adopted.
