OTTAWA — Long-time teacher Carol Mallicoat is retiring. Ottawa Supt. Dean Katt said the school board regretfully accepted her request to retire at their meeting Monday. Mallicoat is the preschool teacher at Lincoln Elementary School. She is one of the district’s top teachers and she’ll be missed, he said.
