OTTAWA – Dr. Ramon and Glenda Schmidt will $1 million to Ottawa University. OU officials announced the gift Tuesday and they say the Schmidts’ gift will go toward the university’s Center for Personal and Professional Growth, which will be named in their honor. The Schmidt Center seeks to develop the whole perso, OU officials. Students are provided with a variety of personal and professional support services, including a success coach. The Schmidts, who have made other gifts to OU, say they enjoy helping students. They were honored in 2008 with the Ottawa University Alumni Association’s Esther Ruth Award, which recognizes individuals for volunteer service that has improved student life at the college and benefited the university as a whole.
