OTTAWA — This year’s Salvation Army of Franklin County’s Red Kettle bell-ringing fundraising campaign fell short of its ambitious goal of $25,000. The drive raised $18,512.92, said Adam Lynch, of the Salvation Army of Franklin County. Cold and windy days cut back on the number of days bell-ringers could be outside, he said. However, this year’s proceeds will be able to help many families and individuals in the months to come, he said. The Salvation Army is still counting up donations from the counter kettles placed at several businesses across the county and donations are still coming in from a newspaper insert campaign. Lynch thanks everyone who rang bells and who donated.
