LAWRENCE–The fight over the Baker wetlands and building a trafficway drags on. In November, a district judge ruled that a South Lawrence Trafficway could be built through the northern part of the Baker wetlands. Those who oppose, environmental groups and some Haskell Indian Nations University students said that they would appeal the decision. The opposing side wants the trafficway to be built south of the wetlands. The appeal will be filed in the next few days.
