TOPEKA — The Kansas departments of revenue and transportation are issuing a safety warning about 15-passenger vans. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently released a consumer advisory about the vans in the wake of two recent fatality crashes in New York and Georgia. The agencies note that the 15-passenger vans have a tendency to roll over. In the two fatality crashes, the vans rolled over, killing 10 passengers. Revenue secretary Joan Wagnon said the state is sending letters concerning safety issues to the registered owners of the vans, including over-loading and driver training.
