GARNETT–If you thought elections were over in November, think again. This spring voters will be electing new or returning school board members. Cleon Rickel has filed to keep his at-large position on the USD-365 Board of Education. Rickel’s and three others are up for election. These include District 1, which is currently held by Carl Nichols; District 2, held by Gary Teel and District 3, held by Dwight Nelson. In the Crest District, four seats are also up for election. They are District 1, which is vacant; District 2 held by Tadd Goodell; District 3, held by David Milner; and District 7, the at-large position which is held by Steven Weatherman. There’s also a seat in the Garnett City Commission up for election. Currently, Chris Maynard is holding the seat. No one has fild for the position. Anyone interested in filing for the school board races should file at the Anderson County Clerk’s Office at the Courthouse in Garnett. Anyone filing for the Garnett City Commission seat should file at the Garnett City Hall.
