OSAWATOMIE — The city of Osawatomie will open bids for a proposed $1.25 million street improvement project. The city wants to redo Brown Avenue between 14th and 18th streets, Pacific Avenue between 12th and 14th streets, and 14th Street between Pacific and Main streets this year. Those streets will be repaved and a new sidewalk poured on one side of each street. City manager Bret Glendenning told the Osawatomie Journal that he’s worried that rising oil costs will increase the cost of the asphalt bids.
