TOPEKA–An elderly man has been indicted on federal charges. David Osborne, 72, of Mound House, Nev. was indicted on federal drug trafficking charges from a December 12th, 2010 traffic stop along Interstate 70 in Wabaunsee County. The Kansas Highway Patrol found 40 lbs of cocaine and 160 lbs of marijuana in Osborne’s vehicle. Osborne faces one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine and one count possession with intent to distribute more than 50 kilograms of marijuana. If convicted, Osborne could face at least 10 years in federal prison, a fine up to $4 million on the cocaine charge and 20 years in prison and a fine up to $1 million on the marijuana charge.
