TOPEKA — An elderly man has been indicted on federal charges. Seventy-two-year-old David Osborne of Mound House, Nevada, was indicted on federal drug trafficking charges from a Dec. 12 traffic stop along I-70 in Wabaunsee County. The Kansas Highway Patrol found 40 pounds of cocaine and 160 pounds of marijuana in Osborne’s vehicle. Osborne faces one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine and one count possession with intent to distribute more than 50 kilograms of marijuana. If convicted, Osborne could face at least 10 years in federal prison, and a fine up to $4 million on the cocaine charge and 20 years in prison.
