BALDWIN CITY — Someone fired at least five shots into glass doors at Irwin Hall at Baker University early Sunday morning. The residence assistants at the women’s dorm immediately called 911 and police were on the scene within minutes, Baker University spokesman Steve Rottinghaus said. No one was injured, he said. The investigation is continuing, he said. The Kansas City Star reported that the shots may have been fired by a boyfriend of one of the residents. The newspaper said that the Baldwin City police are looking for a white male in a brown bomber jacket who was seen running from the scene and jumped into a car that immediately took off. Rottinghaus said the university will do everything it can to ensure the safety of its students.
