OTTAWA — Incumbent Susan Ward and challenger Rick Welton have filed for the Ottawa school board. That means five candidates for the four positions open this year on the Ottawa board. Although most filings for city and school board positions outside of Ottawa have lagged, there’s a full house in one West Franklin school board race. Three people have filed for Position 1. Rusty Ecord made it three Friday. Curtis Altic and Anna Lee Curtis have also filed. Timothy Matthias is the only person to file for Position 3 and Lisa Reece for the at-large Position 7. No one has filed for Position 2. The only other races are for the Wellsville school board. Beth Watson is challenging incumbent Carrie Meyer for Position 2, and Dawn Hrabe Whalen is challenging incumbent Vicki Bohi for Position 7.
