LAWRENCE — Black Violin, a classically trained violin and viola duo and a funkadelic hip-hop DJ, will perform at the Lied Center at Kansas University at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8. The group has performed onstage with Alicia Keys, Diddy, Fat Joe, Akon and the Wu-Tang Clan and has been named an Apollo Legend by the Apollo Theater in Harlem. The group took its name Black Violin from the title of the last album by jazz violinist Stuff Smith.
