OTTAWA– Advocates of mental health are fearful of future budget cuts across the state of Kansas. Saturday’s Legislative Coffee allowed the public to discuss its concerns with state legislatures. Executive Director of the communal mental health center and the Elizabeth Layton Center, Diane Drake, doesn’t know how her patients can be treated with less funds. She says that people that need help will be unable to get it.  Representative Terri Lois Gregory is doing what she can to get Kansas approved for a $480 thousand dollar federal grant, which would in turn aid mental health.
