LAWRENCE — The Land Institute’s Wes Jackson will speak twice Tuesday at Kansas University. Jackson, a Kansas native who became an international expert and author on the environment and sustainable agriculture, founded the Land Institute at Salina to develop an agricultural system with the ecological stability of the prairie and grain yields from perennial plants comparable to that of annual crops. He’ll take part in a panel discussion with World Bank environmentalist Warren Evans in a class at KU’s law school. Jackson will then speak Tuesday evening at 5:30 at the Stinson Morrison Hecker Lecture Hall in Green Hall. A reception will follow. Both events are free and open to the public.
