OTTAWA — The ice man cometh and this time, he’ll stayeth. The national weather service is predicting not just the one moving into the area but another winter storm to blast through the area. The weather service’s Topeka office has issued a winter storm warning for Osage and Douglas counties, with up to an inch coating of ice with another 3 to 6 inches of snow driven by winds of up to 30 miles an hour, lasting until 9 p.m. However, the forecast calls for other counties in the area not to get as heavy accumulations of ice and snow. U.S. Department of Agriculture weather forecaster Brad Rippey called this as the winter that won’t go away.
