OTTAWA — The free county cleanup will be spread out through April. County solid waste director Rick Sawin told county commissioners Monday he wanted to avoid a lot of trash coming in at one time. He said the transfer station would take large “roll-off” trash containers for free from cities west of U.S. 59 – Pomona, Princeton, Richmond and Williamsburg – April 7-9; and from cities east of U.S. 59 – Wellsville, Rantoul and Lane, April 14-16. The transfer station will be open to the public for free from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 29 to 30.
