OTTAWA — Construction on the Loves Travel Center south of I-35 has resumed. Ottawa city planning and codes director Wynndee said the stalled project resumed after the city reapproved the permit last week and met construction officials concerning 27th Street, which is to be built at the travel center. City manager richard nienstedt said the city completed the utilities at the Love’s site last year. He said he’s glad to see the project resume. Construction company president Gabe Harman there will be several months of dirt work and underground work before anyone sees the building. The travel center should be open by the end of the year, said Love’s Rick Shuffield. The center will include a convenience store, tire shop, Hardees restaurant along with fueling stations for autos and semi-trucks.
