GARNETT — It’s same old, same old for most Anderson County property owners.
Anderson County appraiser Mike Durdee told the Anderson County Review that nearly all property values remained relatively flat. The new valuations will be mailed beginning March 18. Sales of newer homes in the county showed a slight increase but overall, real estate sales fell last year, he said. The average selling price of houses also appears to have decreased, he said. Durdee said he doesn’t know if sales will pick up this spring and summer because higher fuel prices could cut the number of people moving out of the greater Kansas City area.
