GARNETT — Some Anderson County voters will a choice next Tuesday – but only two of them. The only contested races are for the Garnett City Commission and for the Westphalia position of the Anderson County USD 365 school board. Garnett city commissioner Chris Maynard is being challenged by three other men. Maynard is an insurance agent with state farm insurance. He’s being challenged retired pipe fitter Jan Fagg, local landlord Art Gilmore and ethanol plant distilled grains merchandiser Dan Morgan. In the school district race, incumbent and dairy farmer Carl Nichols of Westphalia is being challenged by community college teacher Gaylene Comfort.
