OTTAWA — Author Thomas Wolfe said you can’t can return home. Well, you can, but you may get thrown into jail. Ask William Patrick McLay who returned to Franklin County to go to court. However, Ottawa Police Lt. Adam Weingartner said police had been waiting for him to return. McLay was wanted in connection with a burglary at Bishop’s Brew and a vehicle theft two years ago but had gone out of state, Weingartner said. He was booked into the jail for two counts of felony theft, criminal damage and motor vehicle theft. He’s also being held at Douglas County’s request.
