GARNETT — Anderson County was no country for incumbents. Voters turned out incumbents in the Garnett City Commission and Anderson County USD 365 school board races. Garnett ethanol plant executive Dan Morgan won a four-way race, receiving
225 votes. City Commissioner Chris Maynard received 100 votes. Jan Fagg and Art Gilmore were third and fourth. In the school board race, community college teacher Gaylene Comfort unseated Position 1 incumbent Carl Nichols. Both are from Westphalia. She picked up 317 votes. He received 198.
