GARNETT — New Garnett city commissioner Dan Morgan will be sworn in tonight at the city commission meeting. The commission meets at 6 at city hall. Voters picked Morgan over City Commissioner Chris Maynard and two other candidates. Maynard steps down after a term and a half. During the campaign, Morgan touted his managerial and business experience combined with experience serving on various boards. Morgan is a distilled grains merchandiser at the Garnett ethanol plant. Morgan said his long-term goal as a commissioner is to help grow the city with new business and more families.
