OTTAWA — The Ottawa Recreation Commission will offer its first annual Ottawa High School scholarship This is a $500 scholarship available to one full-time Ottawa High School senior. The ORC’s Theron Diechmann said the scholarship is intended to encourage a student’s community service, encourage students to work for ORC and encourage students to pursue a career in parks and recreation. Preference given to students planning to major in parks and recreation, physical education or sport management; and those students who work for ORC or do volunteer work. Deadline is May 6. Check with ORC or its Web site for applications.
