One of the hardest decision County Commissioners made last year was to close the juvenile detention center. The thought was that they were not housing enough juveniles to justify the cost of the center after extensive research and reports from various departments they chose to close it. Franklin County Administrator Derek Brown says, so far, the expected savings have been accurate:
Brown says the decision to close the center was not easy, but, the savings from the decision are more than expected. TheJDC was part of a $2.3 million renovation of the building and originally opened in June of 2012
