A very popular pancaking flipping business is looking at Miami County to call home…again. Chris Cakes was based near Louisburg when it opened in 1984. It relocated to Gardner in 2005. Now, the daughter of the original owner, Steve Hamilton…Amanda Shore, wants to bring it back to Miami County. They presented their case to the Miami County Planning Commission recently.
Plans show a proposed 2,880 square foot warehouse south of the Haven Event space, to be used to house catering supplies that will be used to cater events offsite. Two property owners nearby had concerns about screening, traffic and drainage. Amanda and her husband Mark say traffic would be limited with only one delivery a week and employes on site only to gather supplies for events.
With a 6-2 vote, the Planning Commission approved the conditional use permit for the business. The Miami County Commission must give final approval.
