After two years of planning and preparation, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new law enforcement center, Monday afternoon, April 17th. The new building will feature updated technology and enhanced safety measures for officers, facility staff and inmates, and will pay for itself by housing inmates for the U. S.Marshall Service:

County resident approved the new facility February of 2022, and was funded by a four year, half cent sales tax. The new facility will have up to 144 beds, up from the 30 available now and will house all aspects of law enforcement and emergency management. They expect the building to be complete and ready to move into in about 18 months.
