Human trafficking comes in many different forms. Some think about it as sex slavery, but that’s not always the case, there are many types of human trafficking and, it happens right here under our noses in Franklin County. County Commissioner Iann Dickenson described the scope of human trafficking:
Want to learn more? The Ottawa Rotary will present a Human Trafficking Awareness Panel, Sunday at Hope Anthem Church. Representatives from numerous organizations will be on hand, including Willow Domestic Violence Center, Veronica’s Voice Survivor Program, the Special Victims Unit from the Lawrence Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards and many more. The public is invited to attend and learn more about Human Trafficking and its effects on people, not only around the Nation but in our area. The discussion will start at 2:00 Sunday afternoon, April 23rd, at Hope Anthem Church, 13th and Mulberry, in Ottawa.
