The Williamsburg Community Building Club has announced they have received a grant of $5,000, awarded by the Franklin County Community Foundation, enabling the completion of several capital improvement projects for the Williamsburg Community Club. President, Bruce Rockhold, says they are enormously grateful for the grant and it will help them increase the safety and usability of the Williamsburg Community Building.
The Williamsburg Community Building was constructed in 1987. Since that time, it has been a central gathering space for residents of Williamsburg Kansas and Franklin County. Numerous community and private events have taken place under its roof. The facility serves as a polling station and is also currently used by the meals on wheels organization. The Williamsburg Community Building Club, Inc. owns the building and is responsible for its continued operation and upkeep. Rockhold says the grant from the foundation will make if possible to upgrade electrical, plumbing and structural issues that are long overdue.
