Last week, when a student posted a threat toward Ottawa Middle School staff, that threat was seen by other students and parents and within minutes, officials at the middle school and the Ottawa Police Department were notified. Action was quick and within the hour, police were at the school and at the students house talking with him and eventually took him into custody. According to USD 290 Superintendent, Dr. Ryan Cobbs, the key to the quick resolution was communication and the phrase “if you see something, say something”:
