With Thanksgiving a little over a week away, many people are starting to buy food for the family meal. The cost of a typical Thanksgiving feast will be less expensive this year. According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the average cost of preparing Thanksgiving dinner last year was about $47. This year, believe it or not,the cost will be lower, at just over 40 bucks. Turkey is not only a popular food, but K-State Research and Extension Nutrition Specialist Sandy Procter says it’s a healthy food.
Last year, the average American consumed 16 pounds of turkey per person. No…not just at Thanksgiving, though you may have felt like it, but throughout then year.
