USD 365 Anderson County is looking for a new superintendent. After 15 years at the helm, Don Blome has announced his resignation.

Blome came to Anderson County from his superintendent’s post in Burlingame in 2008. During his tenure, the district sold it’s former location and moved to the present location on Oak street. He also pressed for and passed a nearly $15 million bond issue for the construction of Garnett Elementary and other upgrades to district schools. Blome also initiated the development of the district’s own bus department in 2012. He expanded security at Anderson County Junior Senior High, and brought a full time security officer in.

The USD 365 School Board will hold a meeting tonight at 7:00 at the District Board Room to consider a contract with the Kansas Association of School Boards for superintendent search services
