The Osawatomie Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner and award ceremony was held recently. Osawatomie Volunteer Fire Department Chief Brian Love and Osawatomie Director of Utilities Terry Upshaw were named Citizens of the Year for 2023. A social media post says that the two, incredibly deserving individuals, have gone above and beyond for the community in their decades of service, and the city is proud and grateful to have them as part of their leadership.
The Grounds Guys of Olathe, was named the 2023 Business of the Year during the dinner. The business has handled many jobs in Osawatomie. Social media says Chris Troxel and his team take care of many landscaping needs in town, including the bulk of the city’s public properties, like the parks and cemeteries. They also light the downtown and decorate the Mayor’s Christmas Tree!
The dinner was the first to be organized by new Osawatomie Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Jennifer Williams, who started her new position in October.
