The Ottawa Fire Department was called to 1104 South Maple yesterday morning, January 25th, on the report of a structure fire. As fire crews arrived on scene they notice heavy smoke coming from the garage and from around the eaves. The occupants of the house had been evacuated and firefighters immediately entered the house. They found that the fire was in the garage. They extinguished the fire, that had started to spread up a wall in the garage. Reports indicate that the fire may have started in a dumpster that was stored in the garage.

Acting Fire Chief, Shawn Dillon, says fortunately the fire was contained to the garage area and no one was injured; however, one person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by Franklin County EMS personnel. No damage estimate was given.
