An Overbrook man was hospitalized following a serious injury crash in Osage County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says about 2:00 Friday afternoon, January 26th, a 2022 Ford Ranger, driven by 86-year-old Charles VanPelt from Overbrook, was traveling southbound on Topeka Avenue and a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina, driven by 18-year-old Abigail Dinger of Topeka, was traveling westbound on US-56. VanPelt failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection, causing Dinger to collide into the driver’s side of the truck.
VanPelt was taken to Stormont Vail hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries. Dinger had a slight injury, complaining of pain, but was not transported to the hospital.
