The Kansas Attorney General’s office has put a warning out to Kansas City Chief fans. Be on the watch for counterfeit Super Bowl gear and ticket packages. If you are purchasing tickets, only do so through a verified source, like the Chiefs official website travel packages. The NFL uses Ticketmaster as their platform for sales and guarantees the authenticity of the tickets. Tickets on Craigslist, Facebook Market Place, EBAY or other social media are not recommended. Also, be aware of phone scams.

When it comes to official merchandise, check the tag. All Officially Licensed NFL products will bear the league’s shield on the tag. If the tag on the merchandise doesn’t have the shield, it may be counterfeit. A good indication of official merchandise includes where it is manufactured and the quality of the logo on the item. You can pretty much assume that the pop-up stands you’ll begin to see this week, offer counterfeit products.

If you believe you have fallen victim to a Super Bowl related scam, or any scam, should contact their local law enforcement, or call the Kansas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.
