The crisis at our southern border is leading Republican led states to send troops to Texas to help with the issue. There is a movement in the Kansas Legislature to send kansas National Guard Troops to Texas to help, also. However, Governor Laura Kelly says it’s a federal issue, not a state issue:
Recently, the Supreme Court authorized Border Control agents to remove wire on the border. Texas says it was installed to prevent illegal crossings. The Federal Government says it was preventing agents from reaching migrants in distress. Kansas Attorney General Chris Kobach joined two dozen other states in writing a letter supporting Texas’ border defense.
