Shots rang out at the Kansas City Chief’s Super Bowl victory parade and rally. Shots were fired west of Union Station near the garage. Kansas City Fire and Police confirmed at least 28 were injured and the total number of shooting victims had gone up to 22, including one person that died, identified as KKFI 90.1 radio DJ Lisa Lopez Galvan.
A Children’s Mercy Hospital spokesperson says they treated 12 patients, 11 kids, nine of those with gunshot wounds
KC Mayor, Clinton Lucas says he, like many others are angry:
At least three people were taken into custody, and at least on weapon confiscated. Authorities do not believe this was a terrorist incident, however, the Federal Government is involved in the investigation and a motive for the shooting is not known.
