Slower food price growth occurred across all food categories in 2023. Is that a trend that will continue in 2024. USDA Economist, Megan Switzer with the USDA food price outlook for this year:
Expect price decreases in things like eggs, pork, cereal and bakery products, fresh vegetables and dairy. For comparison, overall food prices are expected to increase about one point three percent this year, versus a 5 point 8 percent total rise last year.
